Position: Fixed Term Contract until June 2015, full time, 36 hours per  weekSalary:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a creative and dynamic Administrative  Officer to support Family Services and Social Work. Working in a fast paced and  challenging environment, you will be an integral member of this service area and  will provide a range of high level and complex business administrative  services.

Within this role you will work closely with the Service Manager providing  comprehensive support to the Family Group Conference Service (FGC) including  resolving a range of operational queries, database management and producing  service related reports. You will monitor the FGC budget and undertake a range  of financial transactions. You will ensure that all records are accurately  maintained with relevant information and will participate in ongoing projects  and evolving service developments. As an experienced administrator you will  organise and co-ordinate meetings and events, produce and distribute agendas and  take complex minutes of professional meetings ensuring accuracy and timely  execution of all actions.

We are seeking confident candidates who can demonstrate excellent  organisational skills. You will have a good eye for detail and will understand  financial processes in a Local Authority setting. You will need to be responsive  to changing priorities and will need to to demonstrate effective  self-management. You will be a strong team player; have a can-do customer  focused approach; ability to show initiative and be proactive in problem  solving. You will be a confident communicator who will be able to develop  respectful relationships with clients and officers of all levels.

We are seeking innovative and creative forward thinkers who can continually  identify opportunities to make improvements to the service.  

  • Advanced skills and experience of using a range of computer systems  including as MS Office and databases with the ability to type accurately at  50wpm.
  • Ability to work accurately; methodically and flexibly to meet targets within  set timescales and conflicting deadlines.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills and ability to use own initiative to make  and act upon informed decisions which are both customer focused and achieve  success.
  • Experience of maintaining excellent administrative records and following  processes thoroughly ensuring robust audit trails in line with Camden’s  financial regulations.
  • Experience of competently minuting professional/practitioner meetings and  producing an acceptable draft within a specified timescale.
  • Experience of work in a child focused or social work setting.
