Designed for social workers, Youth Offending Teams, Community Workers, Teachers, Health Workers, new co-ordinators, advocates and other service providers likely to attend a Family Group Conference. This is an informative, interactive training day exploring processes and uses of FGC

Participants will have the opportunity to: 

  • Learn about the history, ethos and principles of the Family Group Conference model
  • Explore the dynamic of families attending a conference
  • Compare and contrast the difference between this process and other processes
  • Explore the role of the professional in the process
  • Develop the skills and knowledge needed for providing clear and relevant information to the FGC
  • Consider the role of children and young people in their family group conference and how to get their voices heard
  • Debate and discuss any issues and anxieties about the FGC process
