Understanding Conflict

Aim

A useful introductory course designed to provide participants with some tools to handle every day conflicts more constructively when they occur within the workplace, groups and organisations, or even within the family. is a prerequisite for Foundation Training in mediation.

Objectives:

  • Give a practical understanding of the dynamics of everyday conflict
  • Examine personal behaviour and alternative conflict styles
  • Develop appropriate skills to handle conflict better
  • Enable people to work more positively with groups and individuals
  • Create practical steps to address everyday conflict

Who is the course for?

This course is suitable for anyone who wants to handle interpersonal relationships better, either personally or professionally. The course will be individually designed for the organisation to allow for the participants skills, experience and subject group.

Duration

This course is available in a three day block. The organisation can choose to have it accredited or non-accredited. To receive Open College Network accreditation at Level Two, participants will need to attend all three days and complete a learning portfolio.
